Tottenham boss criticises Arsenal fans
It’s not like Harry Redknapp to offer his opinion on something is it? It’s not like Harry Redknapp to think everyone values his views no matter what the subject is it? This time the Tottenham boss has throw in his verdict on the Emmanuel Adebayor celebration and guess what? It was the Arsenal fan’s fault!
As we know too well by now, Adebayor ran the length of the field to celebrate in front of the Gunners fans after scoring for Manchester City in last weekend’s game. This sparked an angry reaction from the away section and understandably so.
Redknapp has said that it’s not ‘celebrating a goal that causes riots’, it’s ‘idiots who want to start riots’. The thing is though Harry, Adebayor knew exactly the reaction he would get and he decided to do it anyway. Surely he qualifies well in the idiot stakes here?
The Spurs boss went on to say that Adebayor was ‘getting a lot of abuse’ during the game and that it was ‘fair play’ that he decided to make sure the Arsenal fans knew he had just scored.
It certainly seems as though Redknapp doesn’t understand the mentality of football fans and he went on to say that there must be ‘something
wrong with you’ if you go to a game and start giving an opposing player some grief.
There was me thinking Redknapp – despite his obviously large ego – was aware of what the game of football is all about. It would be nothing without the fans and for the money they pay, I think they are entitled to have a bit of a moan now and then.
This is just typical Redknapp though. He loves people to know what he is thinking. I wonder what his opinion would have been if Adebayor – as a former Gunner – celebrated deliberately in front of the Spurs fans and that caused a reaction. I’m guessing the player himself would be in for a Harry bashing, not the fans.

No football fan should even read this article the Redknapps dont know what they are talking about,,,plus did anyone see Jamie Redknapp try to accuse RVP for what Adebayor did.
Typical crap from Redknapp. Did he not hear the Spurs fans booing everytime Berbatov got the ball last Sunday. What would he have done if he had scored – not run to the mindless Spurs fans and taunted them I bet – and if he had Arry would have had a go at him no doubt! Lets bring the Spurs scum back down to earth at the end of October!!

People starting riots do so on their own accord.

…..and fans do go over the top sometimes with their abuse of players.
Funny remarks are great; racist or family abuse should be out of the equation.
Redknapp should butt out. How a Scum manager can criticise after the Scum fans treatment of Sol Campbell is laughable. The Redknapp/Lampard football mafia clan make me sick. I pray for the lot of them to be wiped out at a family event.
Does it matter? It was wrong of the fans to react as they did in as much as it was for adebayor to react as he did. Then again maybe it was right for the fans to react as they did in as much as it was for adebayou to react as he did. My argument makes no sense at all .Irony can be pretty ironic

Arsenal fans will never forgive Ade not coz he scored against us but coz he did not have Arsenal at Heart and we paid him hugely.

look. ade’s mum, sistger, brother. girlfriend/wife and children (if he has any) do not or have not layed for arsenal. He has. if you have grief with him, then air them. but bringing a mans family into it is wrong. if it was on the street and it was your mum, what would you do!
however ade is not on the street and he should realise that he must set an example for fans and children worldwide. he knew he would get a reaction but even he didn’t think it would be that bad
the fans who reacted are bloody idiots and i’m embarrased that its arsenal who are involved. these are obviously the same people who think that it was ok to boo eboue, their own player. if your team is doing well sing the songs and show your support. if they are not doing so well. sing even louder. simple really, just ask portsmouth and stoke city fans.
both sides are in the wrong for their actions and both need to be repremanded. oh and his antics in nicking the players boots and stuff from the arsenal dressing room was the crassist of the crass. that is even lower than the celebration. ade you silly boy
