In the last few days I have been blogging about the Adebayor rumours. I was thinking that he would stay and that he was dedicated to Arsenal, but his most recent comments show he is an idiot, if he said them.
I am getting sick of all the transfer talk, I think that Ade wants to leave.
You will have all read the comments:
“Milan are a big club but the fact they are not playing in the Champions League next season is less of a challenge. Barcelona have made a good financial offer and there is also the chance to play alongside great players.
“Yes, I am still under contract to Arsenal but it’s up to the directors to satisfy my demands or I’ll leave. If my good form of last season has increased my value, my employers have to take account of that.
“I have to prepare for my retirement. Even if you are not scoring fine goals and you have money, you can enjoy a happy retirement. The time for preparing for that moment is now.”
“People ask if I am asking for the same salary as Henry. That is not necessarily the question. But I am being considered a worthy replacement for Henry while not deserving his salary. The question lies on this level.”
What an idiot – money-grabbing is all I can say. I am sure there has been some funny business – probably involving Ade’s agent – Stephane Courbis. Only a few days ago he was saying, he would stay. Now we hear all this about negotiations and money and being valued etc etc etc.
He isn’t Henry – his head sounds like it’s getting way too big..
I don’t want to talk about it really. If he wants to leave then let him. I can’t be bothered with him. I think he is a great player, but you can’t have someone in the squad who will affect morale.
This puts Wenger’s comments into context – he isn’t worried – but it doesn’t mean Ade will stay – because he will use the money to buy another striker.
Anyway, I hope the whole mess can sort itself out. If Ade does leave then we need a top class replacement with the money we will get.
well done mate.
As I said man, Arsenal will be 28 mil richer if he leaves. There’re only like, umm, a lot of better strikers out there in the market!
I said before and I’ll say it again: he can leave right now and I would not be worried, Wenger can solve everything. When Henry leaves EVERYONE (well not included most of Arsenal fans) thought we wouldn’t even make it in the top 4! What an insult to our team and Wenger. And look where we’re at, we lost Henry, Wenger threw in Ade and Robin, one got injured and one scored a lot of goals, and we are on the course to greatness again, for the third time in Wenger’s years. Unfortunately the one who scored a lot seemed to think he can demand whatever he wants and play anywhere he wants ’cause now he’s a world class striker. WRONG!!!
It just gets me so so so much that ONE GOOD SEASON under Wenger always make some players think they’re world class and can demand what Henry did. I mean c’mon, HENRY was like only the best and the top goal scorer in our history!!! Plus he’s so loyal to Arsenal and Wenger that he never ONCE mention anything negative whatsoever towards Arsenal. Now that’s a class act who knows how he owes Arsenal and Wenger too, not only the other way around.
Unlike most of Arsenal fans I talked to, I really really like Ade but this is getting old and boring. We almost see this happen every year since the Invincible days. ARSENAL is one of if not the best club in the world period!!!
Go play in UEFA cup if you want but good luck ’cause you’re going to need it badly!
PS: I really hate to mention this but I have to. I love Hleb, he’s so good but we can AFFORD to LOSE him. If he is the same way as Ade and what’s his name, that French midfielder who partnered CESC? Then please do leave. You guys know he only scored like 3 goals all season right? And not too many assists either. Unlike Pires, Overmars, or Freddie, he just didn’t deliver anything good enough inside the box (the crucial area).
Now if he stays then I’m a very very happy man, don’t get me wrong, but I’m pointing out the facts to the people who think we can’t afford to lose Hleb. As long as Wenger is here, I trust in him and I know that he knows what he’s doing.
haha, diceman, pure quality once again!
One thing I would say is that losing Adebayor would be a big blow for the team.
Firstly it might give the perception that the team is falling apart.
Secondly it might be diffcult to replace him with someone who could instantly come up with goals and play his role.
He isn’t irreplaceable, but losing him might be one step to far in terms of Arsenal’s stability.
Yeah I know man.
But would Wenger even considered selling him if not for the very unrealistic fees that he may get? I don’t think so.
It’s been known that both me and you, James, like him and doesn’t want him to leave. A guaranteed 20+ goals striker is not THAT easy to find. BUT as I said man, I hate players who go for the money and choose to not stick with the team who nurtured him and make him this good.
Even Wallcott can play up front and could be very very good for us. Hopefully, though, if he leaves then I really want Benzema: although we may get someone like Huntelaar, not a bad replacement mind you but for the money he will get Wenger should buy someone already world-class without having to NURTURE him.
SO HE WOULD NOT HAVE TO DEAL WITH THIS BULLS**T AGAIN.
Thats true – Arsenal will look at the money involved and look at the risk – if its worth it then they will take it.
I agree – there’s no point keeping a player who doesn’t care about the club and there are players who we could bring in.
Still I do like the Wenger style – bringing in players who will develop with the team. It works well, not all of them are like this – look at Clichy – patiently waiting for his place, and it has paid off for him, and he doesn’t get big headed when he gets in the PFA team of the year.
Still, maybe its just a thing with strikers – maybe they are more egotistical..
Ade’s a moron. Thanks for the link. hope he leaves now
I don’t know man, I’m still not sure exactly what is happening here.
Why would Barca want him – they have spent so much money already this summer.
If he wants to go then let him, but I’m not sure…
